Dirt & Cheese

If there is one thing this little boy likes, it DIRT! He loves to go outside, and play in the dirt, but he especially loves when there is a little water to mix with the dirt. MUD!! What could be better?!

My other children, however, prefer to eat string cheese rather than dirt. Smarter with age I guess.

Strawberries!

Our first strawberries of the season, (well, minus the few we've already eaten). It's funny how pretty food is when you grow it yourself. We transplanted these strawberry plants last year, and just got a few, but this year, watch out! They are a comin'! It's so fun to me. I've never been a fan of strawberries. Probably because when I did finally try one it was stolen from DQ's salad bar. It was not good and I thought why do people like these. For years I had this mentality. But last year I learned if you eat a Fresh Strawberry from your own strawberry patch, their delightful! Ty laughed and said, so you don't like nasty strawberries, you like perfect ones? Yes! I have been missing out for years. Serves me right for stealing a strawberry from DQ!

Rather than a flower bed at my front step, I have a Strawberry Patch,

which is trying to expand out and I have to keep it contained!

Well, when you have older siblings, you are bound to get dropped sooner or later, and probably more than once or twice or three times.... Hopefully it occurs on a soft surface, but that won't always be the case, as with Teague's incidence. I will take some of the blame since I was the one that asked Derek to move Teague. I just didn't realize he would trip/drop him on the cement! OUCH!! I didn't see it happen, but the result is the only thing I've been able to see since.

This is a week later, the scab has fallen off, and is looking much better! Hopefully there is not a big scar. I must say, I'm glad we have noses that stick out, otherwise, he would have been scraped up all over his face worse than he was. Now when I look at him, I can see more than a big red scab, and he is still really cute!

Fun in the Mud

Teague learned about mud the other day. I was trying to fix a sprinkler in my garden that wasn't working very good. It was just spraying a little bit of water which Teague thought was pretty fun to put his hands in. I had to run in the house for something and when I came back out I saw him sitting really still just staring out into nothing. Probably thinking, "What just happened?" I could see mud on his face and just laughed the closer I got. He was happy as could be. His first experience with mud. The first of many I'm sure. It may seem weird, but it's times like these I feel like a good mom. (Ignoring the fact that I left him outside by himself!) Seeing these pictures makes me feel like a good mom because he is outside being a kid and having fun in the mud.

Mobile

Teague has been mobile for a while now. He started army crawling at 5 1/2 months. He got pretty good at that, but soon that wasn't enough and he was ready for the next thing. About 7 months he was up on all fours and has gotten pretty fast at that. That wasn't enough either and was ready for the next thing. He likes to pull himself up to things so he can stand. He figured out on his own that if he stands up to the gallon honey bucket and pushes, it moves. He now uses it as a walker to help him walk in the kitchen. He has also attempted to climb the stairs, but that hasn't gone too well for him!! :( I don't think there is anything that is going to slow this kid down. He is like his daddy, when he wants to accomplish something, he just goes for it and does it. A good quality to have, just exhausting sometimes. I really do enjoy watching him move around and find things to entertain himself, unless it's my plants!! Since his mobility I've found him in a few fun places. He so proud of himself, but it's the little grin he gives me that makes me a little nervous.

This is the honey bucket he uses as a walker. Glad I didn't spent money on one!

This bench is one of his favorite places. He could stand up to it easy, but then would cry when he wanted to be done. He has figured out now how to get himself back to his knees and down to the floor.

Teague also loves to 'Help' me with the dishes!

Easter Egg Hunt

A lady in my ward put an easter egg hunt together for the little kids in her preschool and in the ward. It was a bit cold, but fun for my kids. They were almost as excited to play on the toys as they were to find the eggs. Turned out really good though. They got to play with friends and I got to talk to friends. Ty had someone to talk to also. It turned out great for us. Teague was probably the one that had the least amount of fun!

St Patty's Day

The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day we had a big cousins day. Here is everyone wearing their cute hats. We also made necklaces with cereal, colored, had green eggs and ham, somewhat watched a movie, and just played and had fun together!

Yes, I know, this girl is the cutest you've ever seen! I love her!

One Wednesday, we stayed home and had our own mini St. Patty's day party. Rainbow cupcakes! They took more time then you would think and is mostly a me job, but my kids did have fun adding the food coloring to their batter, and licking the spoons while waiting for me. The end product was fun also. Below is the classic "show me your cupcake" and have them put it right in front of their faces while you take the picture!

After the cupcakes and naps, we did finger paints. I know, impressive right? Cupcakes and Finger paints in the same day? Before you think I am the most amazing mom ever realize this is not a usual day at our house. It was a special holiday. You do notice I look awful in the above picture because I didn't have a shower and no ones hair got done. Plus the picture below was taken a couple days after the fact. Oh well! My kids were funny about the paints. they didn't want to use their fingers! The used straws most of the time! All in all it was a fun, successful day. I even made soda bread for the first time and quite liked it. Especially with honey butter! Not quite sure why we Americans celebrate it but Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!

Anniversary

Ty and I have now been married for Six years! That seems like a long time, but it's been great. I love this picture because it is first off beautiful, and where we were engaged. Didn't know it at the time we took the picture, but SO glad we have it. There has been a lot of learning, growing, and maturing during the last six years. (Oh yes, and kids! lots of kids!;) I can say I am a better person today because of Ty. I love this guy!
