Two Months Old

Yes, time keeps going and Brock keeps growing. I love this little guy! He is definitely getting cuter and cuter. He had baby acne really bad, which is now going away, so his cheeks are way kissable now. There were a couple weeks there when he wasn't focusing really well, that his eyes were funny. I watched 'Shakiest Gun In The West' and saw Don Knotts whenever I looked at my baby!! He can focus on things now so his eyes don't look so poppy anymore and I do really love that he has big eyes.
People would ask me if he is a good baby. How do you answer that? Do they really want to know? Does he cry a lot? Quite a bit. More than normal? Probably not much, but what is normal? He would get cranky at night and stay up late, but hey, he's a baby. I felt like I ran out of milk for him by the end of the day which didn't help things. I just don't have the gene for lots of fatty milk, mine is skim and scarce, (not a good combo for Brock!) So I started giving him formula so he would be satisfied and sleep longer, and it worked. Now, I'm giving him more and more formula and less and less nursing and he seems much more content. I guess baby's like to have a full belly! Who knew?! ;) Now if we can get the pooping thing regulated, he'll be happy all the time!
Anyway, on to the 2 month photo shoot.
(Taken by me, so don't judge too harshly)

One Month Old

Well, time just continues to fly by and we continue to love this little guy. It seems like he's been with us always, and yet like we just brought him home. He's a cutie and I love kissing his chubby cheeks! He was so good for our little photo shoot. I'm an amateur, but hoping one is good enough to put up on my wall. I'd love to hear which is your favorite.

Introducing....

Brock James Peterson
March 21, 2011
8 lbs 3 oz 20 in.

Well, I'm slow at posting, but he's here! A perfect beautiful baby boy. He's a chunk compared to my other babies. 8lbs is big for me. He has a round face and chubby cheeks which is something I don't see with my babies and really took some getting used to, but I love em. I have really really been having fun and enjoying this baby. I won't go into the labor and delivery, I'll just say this, epidurals are I are now friends. I've been trying different things with each of my babies, and I've found what I like best. It made things much easier for me and Ty. We are now fans and will have an epidural from now on!

A cool surprise we got was receiving a giant basket full of baby stuff for having the first baby of spring. Farm Bureau brought a huge basket for us because Brock was the first baby born this spring in our area. Never heard of that one before, forget trying for the New Year's Baby! Even the nurses were surprised and said it was better than the New Year's baby gets! I didn't take a picture, but there was seriously a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff. Way fun!

My mom kept my other four kids at her house for a week, which saved me. Life isn't too hard if you just have a baby to care for. I love that we live close enough that they could come visit for a while, but then go back to Grandma's so I could sleep when necessary. That made things a lot easier and so I could just enjoy Brock. After a week I told Ty I was ready to take on keeping the kids, cleaning and food wasn't going to happen, but I wanted my kids back home. I've gradually added more and more, my house still isn't real clean and dinner hasn't been fabulous, but we are doing well and happy.

Here he is soon after being born.
The next day, after being cleaned up a bit.
As we are ready to come home from the hospital.
I have five kids!! They were all so excited to see their little brother!

Four days later, what a cutie! I like his spiky hair!
Teague loves his brother, sometimes just too much. I have to keep an eye on this one!!

Cute Boys!!
Eleven Days Old.

We are very happy to have Brock out of the belly and a part of our family. He is perfect. We are all loving him. Everything is going good and I am feeling great, which is good since I do have five kids to take care of now.

Coolest Toy Ever

So, I am not much of a toy mom. I like to go through and throw out old toys. And I don't buy many toys for my kids. I like them to have some kind of learning element to them. Don't think my kids are deprived though, we have a toy room with Lots of toys still. But Christmas I got them the coolest toy ever. Yes, they are for my kids, (as much as they are for me). They're called magformers and I first saw them visiting teaching. They are pretty expensive, but I was sold instantly. Let's be honest, magnets are awesome and these are big enough I don't have to worry about the chocking hazard, and they are completely enclosed. They are great for any age, even moms. Plus my kids still will play with them for hours. Way longer than other toys kids get for Christmas. They will work on something and be excited to show me what they made and want their picture taken, so here are a few favorites.

Derek's airplane.
Derek's Fish
Karly's fish
A bridge with a few embellishments.

Their most recent game with them is to make a hat and balance them on their head as they walk around the house, or lay on the couch in this case. They are so funny. They walk around and talk about themselves in third person like they are announcing a game show. It brings a smile to my face every time.

Oh what do you do with a Teague Monster?

Oh, the Teague monster! This little man is quite the handful, I don't know how many times a day he gets into something he's not supposed to. Or how many times the kids kick him out of the room so they can play without him messing their things up. On the other hand, he can be quite the sweetheart. He always gives the best hugs and kisses, and is oh so cute! His favorite person is Grandma Wardle. He is her little buddy for sure. If we're both in the room, he'll usually go to grandma. But I think Grandma likes it! He doesn't have a birthday in the winter like all the other kids, but I had to share some of the things he's been doing. So for your personal enjoyment, here are some pics of Teague's finest (or something like that) moments.

First is a sweet moment playing with a toy.
Here is just a goofy smile after bathtime, which is one of his favorite things to do.
What a cheeser!!
No, he isn't growing facial hair yet, I believe that's marker.
And he finds it quite funny!!

Teague likes to shove as much food into his mouth as he can. Amazingly enough, after a while it will be gone. He baffles me, but this pic shows how he just doesn't know when to stop shoving food in his mouth.
I don't even know what to say about this picture
Make up your own dialog

Now, for my personal favorite!
I usually keep the bathroom door shut because Teague likes to flush the toilet, unroll the TP and turn on the tub water. This time it was left open however and Teague got himself into a pickle. I just heard this awful screaming/crying and came to check it out and saw this. He was scared to death, but all I could do was laugh. And instead of rushing to his rescue, I ran to get my camera so I could have this memory forever. What a nice mom, huh?! Oh, it just makes me laugh and laugh! I think what happened is he dropped a piece of orange(that's what is in his mouth. not the same piece but a different one. Remember he shoves too much in his mouth?) Anyway, the other piece of orange fell into the toilet and he tried to get it out when he just fell in! You can see the panic in his face, but it is just hilarious to see him actually IN the toilet!! I hope this isn't too traumatizing of an incident when it come to potty training him in another year!

So there you have some Teague-r-ouski moments!

Kami's Birthday

Wow, yes, another birthday! It seems the last month and a half, we have celebrated birthdays, been sick, celebrated Christmas, been sick, New Year's, been sick, birthday, been sick, and then Kami's birthday, before being sick again. It's not me that been sick, which is a huge blessing, but my kids and Ty. I'm ready for it to leave our house for more than a few days. But in-between all the sickness, we've had a lot of fun!
Kami had a birthday party with Aunt Marisa a few days before her birthday so we could have family around. She didn't want to wake up from her nap, but when we mentioned presents, she decided that was worth it. She got fun stuff including bubble bath which she has used almost everyday since. She also got an awesome lap top computer from Grandma.
On her actual birthday, we had to celebrate in the morning before Ty was gone the rest of the day for work. She opened a couple presents and we had a birthday pancake cake. All the kids thought that was pretty fun. She had a fun day playing and even got to go to Grandma's to play and have left over birthday cake! What a day! Kami totally acts like a three year old to me. She is a real joy to watch and have around. I love that she will go play with the older two kids, but also wants to spend time with just me. Oh, there's lots to love about this girl!

Happy Birthday Kami!

My favorite thing about this picture is Teague's little eyes and nose peaking up over the bed!

Happy Birthday Derek!

As if the holidays aren't busy enough, we add birthdays into the mix. Derek turned five! He is such a cute boy and lots of fun. We have decided that kids turn into giggly monsters when they turn five! He likes to laugh. I love this boy and that I can still get him to cuddle with me. When looking at cake ideas he liked the pac man cake he saw, so that's what we did. We had it looking great before church, but when we came home Teague had gotten into it.(Teague was home with Ty and Karly because she had a rash from an allergic reaction to amoxicillin and couldn't go to church.) Anyway, we ended up decorating the cake twice, but it was fun and everyone liked it. We went to Grandma Wardle's and celebrated with all the cousins and aunts and uncles still there from New Years. What another fun party! Derek had fun and that's what matters! I'm glad it was a fun day for him and that he waited til the next day to be sick, again.
Happy Birthday Derek! We love you!
